Alaska Mando CD

Reviews of Alaska Mando:

From January issue of Bluegrass Unlimited: "While Page seems to be a fixture on the Alaska bluegrass scene, this appears to be his debut album, and the music herein would be more likely to ring the new acoustic bell than the bluegrass bell. ... he is a very accomplished and innovative player and composer. Credit the long winters and extended hours indoors in Anchorage, but this CD shows the level of acoustic musicianship does not diminish with proximity to the Arctic Circle and the Northern Lights. It would be nice to hear more from these folks soon." (read the whole review)

From Autumn 2007 issue of Sing Out: "Joe Page, the dean of Alaskan mandolinists and raconteur of legendary proportions in the Alaskan acoustic music scene has produced his first album. It's an all instrumental outing featuring his own compositions on eleven of the twelve cuts. ... His solos reveal a mature, confident, and solid rhythmic approach and the ability to compose effective settings for a modern string band. Page delivers hot mandolin playing with a sense of fun and purpose." -Stacy Phillips (read the whole review)
